ImageFirst
A Vertex Internet client since 2000, ImageFirst is comprised of a group of three different companies. With satellite locations in Maryland, Ohio, Florida, and New Jersey, these companies provide uniform rental, professional apparel and medical wear to the majority of the east coast.

Business Challenge
ImageFirst’s professional apparel business unit approached Vertex Internet with a challenging proposition. They needed to develop a website that would allow their customers who are national retailers and service companies to roll out uniform programs via a web-based order entry system. This challenge was compounded with complex business requirements for pricing, fulfillment, billing and shipping.

Additional challenges were exposed within the usability of the E Commerce enabled web site as on-line business-to-business transactions needed to be designed differently than traditional business-to-consumer transactions.

Vertex Solution
Vertex Internet was able to create an extensible business-to-business E Commerce platform for ImageFirst built upon Microsoft Commerce Server and SQL Server. The website currently supports many branded microsites, each specifically designed for order entry and fulfillment for their national brand-name clients.

In addition to the order entry features, Vertex Internet also developed enhanced customer service features such as order history reports, real-time package tracking and return merchandise authorization.

Impact
ImageFirst has been able add value to their clients by providing a web-based interface into their business processes. Their clients now have more information and more functionality available to them in a real-time format. The overall impact of their E Commerce website has lead to a decrease in administrative and processing overhead and an increase in customer satisfaction.
