We took over an existing office refurbishment project in Chelmsford, getting the original programme back on track to deliver a high-end modern workspace.
The client wanted to upgrade and refit a vacated space in Chelmsford to a high-end specification, but the project was disrupted when the original M&E subcontractor went out of business. After a swift and thorough review of the contract documents, programme and budget, Vertex committed to managing the existing subcontract teams, alongside all health & safety and CDM duties.
The project required a comprehensive strip-out, removing all M&E services, fire alarm systems, access control, and Building Management Systems (BMS). The existing raised floor was temporarily removed to allow for the installation of a new power distribution network, and a new suspended ceiling was fitted, accompanied by modern lighting solutions, fire alarm detectors and call points. The space was further enhanced with feature walls, a full AV system including three large televisions, a sliding glazed partition, high-quality Karndean flooring and new furniture.
Key challenges and solutions
